Thorsness Appliance and Bed Store is owned and operated by Mike & Krissa McIntyre. 

Thorsness Hardware dates back to 1945 by original founders Obert Thorsness and his son Wilf; Wilf’s brother Keith joined shortly after.  

In 1972 the Thorsness hired Mike’s father, later in 1992 he was joined by Mike himself. The McIntyres have operated the business since 1996 when the Thorsness family retired.  

We have kept the Thorsness name because of its well-known reputation.  Thorsness Hardware has had stores in Saltcoats, Bredenbury, Churchbridge and Langenburg.  Thorsness Appliance opened in Yorkton in 1988 and is still serving the community to this day. 

Sales Center

Our show room on 14 Betts Avenue in Yorkton has over 5000 square feet of retail space.  We showcase a broad array of products and services.  Many of our appliances in the showroom are in operable condition, allowing customers the opportunity for a hands-on shopping experience.

Warehouse Space

We offer over 8000 square feet of warehouse space to keep several back up models available so that when you make your purchase we have what you need boxed up and ready for you to take home.  Are you building new or renovating?  We will store your appliances till you are ready for pick up or delivery.

Parts and Service Dept.

Thorsness Appliance has a dedicated service department committed to serving the needs of our customers.  We provide service for every brand we sell as well as some other major brands.  We do in-home and in-shop repairs, and have a fully stocked parts department ready to supply any service requirement that comes up.  We stock thousands of parts and with most make and model numbers we can generally access parts within 5 business days.

Delivery Service

Thorsness Appliance delivery service is an integral part of our business.  We understand that the sale is not complete until the appliance is delivered safely to the customer’s home.

COVID 19 Policy

The health and wellbeing of our clients, staff and community is our highest priority.  We ask when visiting us please use the hand sanitization station when you walk in our front door and also wear a face covering.  Every day we turn the lights off in our show room at 4pm to clean and sanitize the room and its contents, but the store is open till 5:30 pm Mon-Friday and till 5pm on Saturdays for your shopping needs.
